BANDA ACEH, KOMPAS.com – Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin launched Polio National Immunization Sub Week (PIN) in Aceh, to respond to the extraordinary cases (KLB) of polio in Aceh that occurred in Mane village, Mane district, Pidie district, Monday (5/12/2022 ).
In the presence of Acting Aceh Governor Achmad Marzuki and the Health Service and other related agencies, Minister Budi ordered the administration of the vaccinations to be completed within a month.
“I asked the acting governor that I can complete the immunization within a month and achieve the goal. And also continue to increase the socialization of polio immunization in the community, because the impact of polio is very dangerous for children “, he stressed Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Monday (5/12/2022).
In addition to setting targets, Budi also thanked healthcare workers and the Aceh government for implementing polio immunization in Pidie district.

“Currently the immunization achievement in Pidie has reached 79.5%, I will give it another week so that the 96% target can be achieved,” said Budi Gunadi.
At the same venue, Aceh Acting Governor Achmad Marzuki called on Aceh regents and mayors to seriously implement and make National Polio Immunization Week (PIN) a success in the local area.
“I instruct all regents/mayors, along with the ranks below them, to seriously implement this Sub Polio PIN, in accordance with the rules set by the central government,” Achmad Marzuki told Anjong Mon Mata, Banda Aceh.
He explained that Sub PIN Round 1 started from 28 November 2022 in Pidie district and from Monday 5 December it was launched simultaneously for all districts/cities in Aceh.
“Once again I repeat to all regents/mayors and their respective forkopimdas, be serious about implementing SUB-PIN polio so that the goal of 95% of children aged 0-12 to be immunized against polio can be achieved,” he said.

For the first phase, during the period from 5 to 12 December, the POLIO SUB-PIN will be implemented in Banda Aceh city, Sabang city, Aceh Besar district, Pidie Jaya district, Bireuen district and of North Aceh.
The Aceh government is targeting 1.2 million Aceh children to receive polio immunization in one month. At least 1.15 million children or 95% will be able to be immunized by the end of December 2022.
