Bern (dpa) – Due to the high number of infections, the state of Saxony will be back on the Swiss list of corona risk countries and areas from next Monday. The Federal Office of Public Health announced on Friday in Bern. Then travelers who had been there in the previous ten days have to present a negative test to enter the country and go into quarantine for ten days after arrival. Thuringia has long been on the list. “According to the Epidemic Act, anyone who evades quarantine commits a violation that can be punished with a fine of up to 10,000 francs,” warned the Federal Office. That’s a good 9,000 euros.

People who travel to Switzerland from other regions in Germany must register electronically. Anyone arriving by plane must also show a negative PCR test.

The 14-day incidence is decisive for the Swiss risk list. If the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in an area is 60 higher than in Switzerland, the country or region is put on the list.
