Health allows walk-in flu vaccination points in Algeciras

The Ministry of Health is enabling vaccination points without an appointment for flu preparation and therefore being more efficient in those points that do not reach the average coverage data. Thus, in the province of Cádiz, various points have been set up for this week and next in Villamartín, Arcos, Algeciras and La Línea.

The Western Health Management Area of Campo de Gibraltar set up an influenza vaccination point for adults this Tuesday at the Algeciras market and, also in this municipality, this Wednesday at the North Active Participation Center (CPA), while for Thursday will be at the CPA Sur Saladillo to vaccinate adults against the flu.

The Council recalled that despite this measure, the autonomous community has exceeded the figure of one and a half million people vaccinated against the flu in this campaign that began on October 3, in particular there are 1,548,731 Andalusians protected from this disease.

The flu vaccine has already been received by 63.9% of over 65s, the main target of the campaign, in particular over 80s and residents (73.5% coverage). In this group, Cádiz has 201,124 people vaccinated, which represents 53.3% coverage.

As regards coverage in the other main target groups, in Andalusia so far 87.4% of people residing in care homes have been vaccinated, 30.1% of children between 6 and 59 months, 36.5 % of care home workers, 45.3% of health and social care workers, 73.5% of people aged 80 or over, 44.6% of the population aged 12-64 with pathologies , 58.3% of the population aged 5-11 with pathologies and 29.1% of pregnant women.
