Head pulled out of noose: Our PSV volleyball players overturned what appeared to be a losing game at Gransee

Neustrelitz’s team, here attacking in white, had its teething problems.

Like a phoenix from the ashes: two sets down, the second division volleyball team PSV Neustrelitz still managed to score two points in Gransee in the evening. At the end of the match it was 3:2 after a tiebreaker for the residents of the Residenzstadt (19:25, 18:25, 25:19, 25:20, 15:11). The match opened up to a score of 7:7 in the decisive round, then the guests finally managed to break the resistance of the Brandenburgers to the delight of the fans who had traveled on a special bus.

“We really managed to get our heads out of the noose,” PSV volleyball coach Patrick Scholz told me after the emotional match. “I then spoke to the boys, who didn’t really know what happened to them in the first two sets. After all, the Granseer/Lindower lined up with weakened substitutes, including a 17-year-old bellboy. We didn’t have that on the slip, because it’s a surefire success,” says my blog partner. “We gave it our all as fans from the arena, but somehow it just didn’t feel like our day. The hosts played simple volleyball.”

The PSV official estimated that returning to the game was a mature performance from the Neustrelitz side led by manager Jonathan Kendrick Scott. In the end there was a win against a team which, like PSV, had legitimate ambitions of podium finishes. And this is not to be despised.

The Neustrelitzers continue on the bronze spot. Next Saturday, the bottom-ranked volleyball team PSV will receive ETV Hamburg in the federal police hall on Woldegker Chaussee. More obviously here in the blog.
