Head of Ukrainian Supreme Court Arrested for Taking Bribe of $3 Million

Anti-corruption authorities detained the head of the Ukrainian Supreme Court Vsevolod Knyazev while receiving a bribe.

Details: The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office documented the taking of a bribe of about $3 million by the head of the Supreme Court.

Knyazev was arrested. Investigations are ongoing.

According to ZN.UA sources in NABU, 13 more judges of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are being searched, and Knyazev received money from people who acted in the interests of the oligarch Konstantin Zhevago.

NABU confirmed that “large-scale corruption in the Supreme Court” has been exposed, namely, a scheme for obtaining improper benefits by the leadership and judges of the Supreme Court.

The bureau promised to provide details later, but they already showed a photo of the money.

At the Supreme Court reportedthat in connection with the events taking place around Knyazev, an extraordinary meeting of the Plenum of the Supreme Court will be held on May 16.

Reference: Vsevolod Knyazev has been the head of the Supreme Court since December 1, 2021. May 25, he will be 44 years old.
