“He Won’t Answer the Door: Help, My Handyman Partner Runs When John Rings the Bell”

“I really need your help. I have a very sweet husband, but nothing comes of odd jobs,” says Jacqueline in her appeal to John. “I have sometimes proposed to sell the house, but that has not led to any progress.” Robbert has back problems and his mother passed away after an illness. “Then you no longer feel like renovating, because he was in the middle of mourning,” explains Jacqueline.

After this difficult period, Jacqueline still wants to know where she stands. “I didn’t buy this house not to be able to take a shower two years later,” she says in conversation with John. As far as Jacqueline is concerned, the house must be habitable within a few months, otherwise she will live alone. “That doesn’t mean the relationship is over, but then we’ll have a chat. I do want a bathroom.” Her understanding has run out, even though her love Robbert is going through a difficult time. “That might sound a bit bitchy and selfish.”

When John visits Robbert to confront him, he does not respond. “He’s not going to open the door,” said a surprised John. Fortunately, Jacqueline is also present. Of course she has a key to the house. When she speaks to her lover, he says he is shocked. “I don’t want this, I really don’t want this.” In the end, Robbert appears after all and indicates that he would have preferred to see it in a different way. “My way, take it easy,” he says, lighting another cigarette.

When Jacqueline indicates that Robbert would like to invite his children home, he becomes emotional. In the end, Robbert decides to put his shoulders under it and help, so that they quickly live in a habitable house.

In the end, after a lot of blood, sweat and tears, a nice provisional end result was achieved by Robbert and the handymen. “I think the overall picture is almost perfect,” says a proud Robbert to John. “I think she really flabbergasted is.” Then it’s time for Jacqueline, who is very nervous, to admire the end result.

Her first reaction is positive. “A dining area instead of a bed. This is how a living room should look,” she says enthusiastically. Jacqueline is also impressed by the top floor. “That could be a nice bathroom.” From the bedroom, her mouth falls wide open. “Wow. Holy shit,” she says in amazement. “It’s like I’m in another house.”

Although Robbert and Jacqueline are now well on their way, not everything is finished yet. That is why Johan comes back two weeks later to see how things are going. The bathroom is not yet finished, which would also be an impossible job, but progress is certainly being made, to the reassurance of the presenter. Things are also getting better between Robbert and Jacqueline. “We are very happy with your help”, they add to John.

Help my husband is a handyman! can be seen every Monday at 8.30 pm on RTL 4 and you can look back here or look ahead at Videoland.

RTL Boulevard spoke to John Williams about the HMMIKcandidates and their ruins. It continues to surprise the presenter.
