HD television via satellite: the next provider gives up

The Freenet subsidiary Media Broadcast has ended the sale of the HD satellite offer from private broadcasters with immediate effect. The marketing of the satellite offer was stopped months ago – now the provider concentrates exclusively on that of the DVB-T2 offer.

Owners of a satellite subscription with HD reception have the option of using up their credit until the end of the year. The same applies to an active direct debit. As of December 31, the encryption data inserted in the transmission signals will be finally switched off, as Freenet announced on its own homepage.

After Diveo, Freenet TV is the next provider in a short space of time to exit the private satellite’s HD satellite offering. Both providers launched the HD satellite broadcast relatively early in 2018.-
