Halo Championship Series (HCS) announces the first major LAN tournament for Halo Infinite.


Competitive Halo is iconic in every sense of the word. Since the early 2000s, Bungie Studios, which turned 343 years old, the Industries franchise has been responsible for paving the way for esports as we experience it today. While Halo has undergone many fundamental changes over time, the lead-up to a new entry in the series is always exciting.

With that said, the Halo Championship Series has officially revealed plans for the first major LAN competition of the first season of Halo Infinite. Competitive players should mark their calendars just one week after Infinite launches around the world. The HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh 2021 is upon us.

HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh 2021

HCS has targeted the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, as the location for Halo Infinite’s first offline tournament. While many of the game’s top professional players are expected to attend, the competition is open to all. The Kickoff Major will take place one week after Halo Infinite hits the world market on December 17-19, with a prize pool of $ 250.

HCS Kickoff Tournament Format

The Halo Infinite toss competition features an open draw, group play, and championship draw. It’s unclear how many team passes will be available. However, we do know that 32 teams will reach the championship draw through starts and group play.

Here’s the full breakdown of the tournament format:

Open bracket

  • Top 16 teams advance to championship draw
  • Eight teams move to the winner’s side
  • Eight teams pass the elimination side

Pool game

  • 16 qualified teams from North America, Latin America, Europe and Australia / New Zealand will receive a full trip to the event.

  • Formato Round Robin
  • The top two teams in each group receive a BYE and advance to the second round of the championship draw.
  • The last two teams advance to the first round of the championship draw.

Addressing the pandemic

Despite the ongoing global pandemic, HCS believes it has taken precautions to ensure safety during the event.

“With the launch of Halo Infinite moving into 2021, the proliferation of vaccines around the world, as well as changes in health regulations and policies, we knew it was time we brought the Halo community back together,” it reads. in the ad.

These are the regulations that HCS has established that all attendees must follow:

  • To enter the venue, all attendees and staff must attest to their health, every day. Entrance to the venue will not be allowed without accreditation each day, and no exceptions will be made.
  • All attendees must also present proof of vaccination as well as a photo ID each time they enter the venue.
  • For those who are not vaccinated, you must provide proof of NEGATIVE COVID-19 PCR test results, for at least the previous 72 hours each day along with a photo ID each time they enter the site.
  • Under state law, masks will be required to enter the venue.
  • Inside the venue, masks must remain on all attendees, including players and staff, at all times without exception. This is a local legal requirement.

How / when to buy tickets

Spectator tickets will go on sale tomorrow, September 29 at 10 a.m. M. PT / 1 p. M. ET. General admission is $ 50 per ticket and limited VIP tickets are $ 100 each. Team passes can be purchased starting November 17.
