HBO Europe Acquires Rights to Screen Carapetian’s Film – Cinema – Culture + – TVNET

HBO Europe is one of the largest multichannel TVs and VOD platforms in Europe, with an English version of Sema Travels starting this September.

The film had its world premiere at the largest North American film festival FantasticFest Austin, USA, November 2021. The film is distributed worldwide by the Danish company LevelK.

The film is a Latvian-Belgian co-production film made by the Latvian film studio “Mistrus Media” and the Belgian company “Polar Bear”.

The film tells the story of a Belgian Sam who goes to a remote place in Europe to look for his father. However, the quest brings him into a world he has never experienced before. As a result of unexpected changes in the situation, Sam is captured by a peasant family, from which only a small piglet turns out to be able to save him.

The main role in the film is played by Kevin Jansen, a popular Belgian actor in European cinema. Latvian actors Laura Siliņa, Aigars Vilims, Juris Bartkevičs and Normunds Griestiņš play roles in the film. The cinematographer of the film is Jurģis Kmins, the main artist is Jurģis Krāsons, the make-up artist is Maija Gundare, the costume designer is Liene Dobrāja, the producers are Gints Grūbe and Inese Boka-Grūbe.

The premiere of “Sema Travels” in Latvia will take place on September 8.
