For the Minister in charge of the digital transition, digital is an instrument that can boost the development of sectors that integrate it into their operation. She therefore argues that in this same way, “ the integration of digital in the cultural world already through this portal, will improve the promotion, popularization and dissemination of cultural works in the region “. Still, there is a challenge. That of connectivity and Aminata Zerbo/Sabané recognizes that it is real. But reassures that a lot of projects are currently underway to improve this connectivity. Going in this direction, the ambassador of the European Union, Wolfram Vetter, rancherie that this portal offers to the cultural actors the opportunity to make known their talents throughout the world in order to encourage collaborations for a better marketing of their works.

He specifies that the portal in question is one of the major results of the Support Program for Creative Industries and Cultural Governance, launched in 2019 with a total amount of 10 million euros. We are at 21e century, in the digital age, said David Sanon, technical adviser in charge of culture at the Hauts-Bassins Regional Council. As such, the cultural actors of the region must not put themselves on the sidelines of this technological revolution, because it reduces their visibility.

We must preserve our know-how

Documents have been produced with the financial support of the Hauts-Bassins Regional Council on very specific elements. These are the mask route, the fabric route and the balafon route. These documents must be used by the consultant to produce maps, three types exactly. Wall maps, pocket maps and maps in digital version which will be available on the portal. Visitors will then be able to see where the balafons are produced in the region, where the fabrics, dyeing and weaving are done and they will know the villages that have masks, says David Sanon.
