Aged 21, 30 and 49, the three men from the Democratic Republic of Congo had left in the afternoon to buy two goats on a farm in the north of the department. On their return to Dijon, they had killed the two poor animals in a field, before leaving for their home at the time of the new 6 p.m. curfew.

They decided, a little later in the evening, to grill the goats, butchered, in the courtyard of their building located rue Parmentier, north of downtown Dijon. They throw their barbecue under the snow. It is the noise of the kitchen and the smell of grills that alerted several neighbors, who warned the police. The police arrived on site around 11:30 p.m. and arrested the three people.
After a night in police custody, the three Congolese came out on Sunday January 17, after having received a fine of 135 euros for not respecting the curfew. They are also summoned to court next July. They face up to six months in prison.
