This car did not reach the Russian market, but in Europe the third-generation Citroen C3 hatchback has already found 750 thousand buyers since 2016. Now it is the most popular model of the French brand. In such cases, it is customary for car manufacturers to carry out planned restyling very carefully so as not to frighten customers away with radical changes. And in the case of the little Citroen, the modernization was even too “soft.”

The front mask is changed, but the overall design is minimally affected. Only LED headlights turned out to be really new (they were already installed in the basic configuration) and contrast jumpers connecting them to the upper section of the radiator grill. New Airbump linings appeared on the doors: instead of seven small air sections, three large ones were installed. And the maximum wheel diameter is increased from 16 to 17 inches. Feed – no change.

In Europe, 65% of buyers of the C3 model choose two-tone cars, so the company has significantly expanded the possibilities of individualization. Now there are 97 combinations to choose from instead of 36: these are seven primary body colors, four roof colors and four decorative packages, but not all of them are combined with each other.

The main new thing in the cabin is the seats created as part of the Citroen’s Advanced Comfort program. The thickness of the layer of special soft foam in the filler has been increased from 2 to 15 mm, and for the driver’s seat, you can now order a folding armrest. There are also new finishes. And the front parking sensors, automatic braking systems and driver fatigue control are added to the list of equipment.

The hatchback engine range was shaken back in 2018, on the eve of the European Union’s transition to the Euro 6d economy, so now it has remained untouched. The choice is a three-cylinder aspirated PureTech 1.2 (83 hp), its turbo version with a capacity of 110 hp and the four-cylinder BlueHDi 1.5 turbodiesel (100 hp). The atmospheric engine and diesel are combined only with a five-speed manual gearbox, and the six-speed “mechanics” or “automatic” are put on the gas turbine engine.

The updated Citroen C3 will enter the European market in June. Now, pre-reform hatchbacks in France cost from 14,450 euros. In Russia, these five-doors still can not wait.
