Harvey Weinstein, once one of Hollywood’s most powerful men, will have to go to court in New York on Monday. The ex-studio boss is accused of sexual assault against dozens of women, including actresses such as Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rosanna Arquette, who initiated the global #MeToo movement against sexual assault and violence in 2017.

The process, which begins with the selection of the jury, is only about two cases: Former production assistant Mimi Haleyi accuses the founder of the Miramax film studio of having forced oral sex on her in his New York apartment in 2006. An anonymous woman also accuses Weinstein of raping her in a hotel room in 2013.
Weinstein has always rejected the allegations. He speaks of consensual sexual relationships. His team of lawyers should try to question the credibility of the alleged victims. The lawyers have provided emails and text messages to show that the Weinstein women were still friendly for months after the alleged attacks.
