Harry Kane Joins Man City, Breaks Transfer and Salary Record

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Harry Kane rumored to be joining soon Manchester City by breaking transfer records and player salaries in Premier League.

Tottenham claimed The Sun have agreed on Kane’s move to Man City. Instead Man City had to pay a transfer of £ 160 million or equivalent to Rp. 3.19 trillion. In addition, Man City is also rumored to have to release Gabriel Jesus to Tottenham.

Kane’s move to Man City would break the transfer record in the Premier League. The previous Premier League transfer record was held by Paul Pogba when Manchester United bought him from Juventus for £89 million in 2016.

In the list of the most expensive players in the world, Kane will be in third position. The England captain only lost to Kylian Mbappe (£ 163 million) and Neymar (£ 198 million).

Not only breaking the transfer record in the Premier League, Kane will also create the biggest salary record in the Premier League. The 27-year-old striker is claimed to earn £400,000 or equivalent to Rp7.98 billion per week if he officially joins Man City.

The status of the highest-paid player in the Premier League was previously held by Kevin De Bruyne, who earned £385,000 or equivalent to IDR7.68 billion per week.

Kane has previously expressed a desire to leave Tottenham. The former Leicester City player wants to consistently appear in the best club competitions such as the Champions League.

Tottenham previously reportedly only wanted to release Kane to a big European club outside England. However, Man City’s offer of £160 million could not be turned down.

Man City need a bomber after Sergio Aguero’s departure to Barcelona. Gabriel Jesus’ game also did not satisfy coach Pep Guardiola last season.

Kane is not the only star player Man City are eyeing. The reigning Premier League champions are also reportedly trying to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
