Born in 1994, 29-year-old Dier is a central defender who has defended Tottenham’s defense for 10 years. This season, Dier has been reduced to a ‘fool’ at Tottenham. Coach Anger Postekoglou even excluded Dyer from the list altogether.
Ahead of the 2014-2015 season, Dier left Sporting CP in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and joined Tottenham. Dier immediately took over as Tottenham’s starting defender, appearing in the third most games among Tottenham defenders.
Dier received the trust of manager Mauricio Pochettino (currently Chelsea) and emerged as a key player for the team. Coach Pochettino showed his faith in Dier by using him as a defensive midfielder and helping him develop his build-up ability.

Fortunately, he recovered from his injury the next season and succeeded in finding his form. After Jose Mourinho took over as coach, he consistently received opportunities to play as a center back.
Dier showed off his peak skills after coach Antonio Conte took over. He was selected as a candidate for Player of the Month in August and was used as a central sweeper in the three-back. He showed stable defense with Christian Romero and helped Tottenham advance to the Champions League.
