Great relief at the British royal court. Harry (35) and Meghan Markle have finally paid back the renovations – cost: 2.8 million euros – to the taxpayers. Parliament had stepped up the pressure after it announced last week that the flamboyant couple had struck a lucrative $ 150 million (about 127 million euros) deal with Netflix.

A spokesman for the couple said, “The Duke of Sussex contributed to the Sovereign Grant.”
“This contribution has fully covered the necessary renovation costs of Frogmore Cottage, a property of Her Majesty the Queen, and will remain the British residence of the Duke and his family.”
Frogmore House was a gift from Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth (94). But since the couple moved to Los Angeles with their son Archie, and most recently to Montecito, nearby, the beautiful property has remained vacant.
According to royalty watcher Ingrid Seward, the royal family can’t help but be pleased with the news of the refund. “I can imagine that Prince Charles is relieved that he no longer has to pay them, and that the British public is relieved that they can now repay their debts. It’s a win-win situation! ”
