The President of the National Assembly, Dr Haroun Kabadi, accompanied by the presidents of the parliamentary groups, was received on Monday by the Head of State, Idriss Deby Itno.
The elected representatives of the people went to inform the Head of State this June 29 of the two resolutions passed by the Assembly last Friday. On Friday, June 26, the deputies voted unanimously to award the title of Marshal to the Head of State for “services rendered to the nation”. A distinction denounced by the opposition for whom this title recalls dark hours of African history.
The resolution was not included in the agenda, but Friday, June 26, the deputies raised the President of the Republic and general to the honorary title of Marshal of Chad. A spontaneous initiative, explained the deputies of the presidential majority.
In a tweet at the end of today’s meeting with the President of the Republic, the opponent Saleh Kebzabo speaks rather of a “meeting in a row”.
