Hanover Indians wrestle Tilburg down in the top game

Reading time: approx. 5 minutes

The top game of the Oberliga Nord between the Hanover Indians and the Tilburg Trappers kept what it promised. Unfortunately only in front of 500 authorized spectators, the game would have deserved at least 3000.

It is impressive that despite the explosiveness, the referee duo Stach / Lenhart only distributed eight penalty minutes. And that with the most unfair teams in the league before the match day. Now the Saale Bulls Halle, who came to a work victory against Krefeld, already have eight points ahead of the second in the table, and that is currently not the Dutch, but the Hanover Scorpions. They can thank the neighbors for helping out. They did that too, at least indirectly, because we learned that Andrej Strakhov’s departure as a new addition to the Indians is under discussion.

The quartet in the battle for fourth place moved even closer together. Leipzig is now level on points with the Indians, followed by Herne and Hamburg, each one point behind. At eight now Herford, which has some space up and down. Behind Erfurt, which now has two points ahead of Rostock after its Hamburg coup. The last four, led by Diez-Limburg, namely Essen, Krefeld and Hamm, were again defeated or were unemployed, so nothing changed.

Hannover Indians – Tilburg Trappers 5:4 (0:2, 2:1, 2:1, 1:0) n.P.

With 13 minutes to go, the game seemed decided. The clever and robust Trappers led 4: 2 and since they had hardly given themselves a real nakedness on the defensive, everything seemed to amount to a victory for the favorite. However, they had done the bill without the landlord, because the Indians, who are already in a good condition, now threw everything forward. With a bit of luck, Pohanka’s 3: 4 disc slipped through the suspenders of the Dutch keeper Ruud Leeuwesteijn, who had been strong up until then, and after that, Fortuna, the goddess of luck, finally had some sympathy with the redskins. She also helped a little to equalize Mike Mieszkowski and the Tilburg defense, which had been safe until then, swam easily. That annoyed the guests, who once again increased the pace and caused a stir in front of ECH keeper Jan Dalgic in the last two minutes, but did not put the disc in the goal. In extra time both teams, especially the Trappers, had a great chance of winning, but it was not used and so it went into the penalty shoot-out, which not only ended in the Indians’ favor, but also showed a curiosity. Ex-Indian Brett Bulmer, in second place, briefly touched the window and then slipped. Bulmer had missed his chance and when Parker Bowles scored the 2-0 in the penalty shootout to the cheers of the 500 fans, the game was over to the horror of the Dutch guests and their 20 fans who had traveled with them.

Conclusion: The Indians who did not compete with Nickolas Bovenschen and the sick David Miserotti-Böttcher showed their weaker side in the first third and had to let clever Dutch people go. With the first goal, scored by Niko Selivanov, the team seemed to jolt. Now they were equally strong and the Indians didn’t seem to mind the two-goal deficit either. That was important for Indians trainer Lenny Soccio: “These two points and, above all, the victory itself were extremely important for us. Now we know where we could stand if we give everything. ”

Tore: 0: 1 (06:08) Jordy Verkiel (Jacobs, Bison), 0: 2 (14:34) Kevin Bruijsten (Hessels, Sars), 1: 2 (23:29) Niko Selivanov (Gibbons, Aichinger), 2: 2 (25:56) Parker Bowles (Bacek, Aichinger), 2: 3 (31:48) Brett Bulmer, 2: 4 (47:00) Ties van Soest (Bulmer, Vogelaar 5-4), 3: 4 (53:20) Branislav Pohanka (Bowles, Bacek), 4: 4 (56:42) Mike Mieszkowski (Gibbons, Bowles), 5: 4 (65:00) Parker Bowles (PEN)

Saale Bulls Halle – Krefelder EV U23 3: 1 (1: 0, 1: 1, 1: 0)

A well-deserved success of the Bulls over disciplined and defensive Krefeld. The shot ratio of 44:17 clearly shows who of the two goalkeepers, Joonas Gähr (Krefeld) and Eric Steffen (Halle), had more to do, but in the end the Halle residents couldn’t get the match penalty against Michael Fomin out of the way throw. The best players in the Bulls were Joonas Niemelä and Defender Dennis Schütt, in the Krefeld team, in addition to the goalkeepers, the second block, which only came to -2 in the plus / minus rating, was convincing.

Tore: 1: 0 (03:37) Joonas Niemelä, 1: 1 (30:13) Adrian Grygiel (Dreschmann, Bauermeister 5-3), 2: 1 (31:34) Eric Gollenbek (Hildebrand 4-5), 3 : 1 (47:55) Patrick Schmid (Niemelä, Schütt)

EG Diez-Limburg – Hannover Scorpions 2:5 (0:0, 2:5, 0:0)

Another highly superior victory for the Scorpions, who had to struggle with a disciplined opponent. After the goalless first period, Tyler Gron broke the spell and as a result, seven more goals were scored in the period, after which the defensive ranks had to say that again and it remained at 5: 2 for the favorites from Hanover. The best Hanoverian player was the aforementioned Tyler Gron with three goals. On the Limburg side, Thomas Matheson once again impressed with two goals, this time within just 26 seconds.

Tore: 0:1 (25:06) Tyler Gron (Hammond, Valery Trabucco), 0:2 (27:26) Tyler Gron (Hammond, Heinrich), 0:3 (27:57) Louis Trattner (Airich, Just), 1:3 (28:19) Thomas Matheson (Mayr, Büsing), 2:3 (28:45) Thomas Matheson (Brothers, Büsing), 2:4 (30:53) Tyler Gron (Hammond, Pietsch), 2:5 (39:22) Thomas Supis (Trattner, Just)

Crocodiles Hamburg – Black Dragons Erfurt 1:2 (0:0, 0:0, 1:1, 0:1)  n.P.

The Erfurt Black Dragons created a little surprise in Hamburg. The guests played defensively, tactically smart and only had to get through a problem phase in the first third when Vojtech Suchomer picked up a fiver plus playing time. It was not until the 45th minute that the Crocodiles took the lead and that would probably have lasted if they hadn’t given the Erfurters a compensatory gift for the third Advent. In the 57th minute, Kyle Beach shorthanded to make it 1-1. In the subsequent penalty shootout, Andre Gerartz finally closed the bag for the Thuringians.

Goals: 1: 0 (44:59) Carl Zimmermann (Martens, Zuravlev), 1: 1 (56:08) Kyle Beach (Wunderlich, Schmid 4-5), 1: 2 (65:00) Andre Gerartz (PEN)

Herford EV – Rostock Piranhas 6: 2 (1: 0, 3: 2, 2: 0)

A clear success for the Westphalians, who had to defend themselves against the offensive urge (46:31 on goal ratio in favor of the Rostockers) of the guests over the entire season. An important detail for the hosts: their power play worked. Two of the four possibilities could be used, which corresponded to a success rate of 50 percent. In addition, the top trio of the HEV had another creamy day. Rustams Begovs, Elvis Biezais and Ralf Rinke secured ten of the 18 points to be awarded. Jonas Gerstung was able to distinguish himself among the disappointing guests, as he was the only one of his team to achieve a + 1 rating in the plus / minus rating.

Goals: 1: 0 (18:25) Marius Garten (Bombis, Rinke 5-3), 2: 0 (21:43) Jörn Weikamp (Bohle, Krocker), 2: 1 (29:48) Kilian Steinmann (Koziol) , 3: 1 (30:52) Rustams Begovs (Rinke, Biezais), 4: 1 (37:59) Marius Garten (Rinke, Begovs 5-4), 4: 2 (38:21) Mark Ledlin (Morgan, von Ungern-Sternberg), 5: 2 (52:15) Elvis Biezais, 6: 2 (58:10) Ralf Rinke (Begovs, Biezais)

Mosquitoes Eating – Herner EV Miners 1: 5 (0: 2, 0: 0, 1: 3)

A well-deserved success for the people of Herne in the tram party. In the first third, the Hernians were clearly superior. In the second section Essen came up, was able to make the game balanced but was not able to overcome the Herner defense. In the third third, the mosquitoes had to strengthen the offensive, were of course susceptible to counterattacks and were successfully countered by their specialists.

Tore: 0: 1 (03:20) Michel Ackers (Fominych, Liesegang), 0: 2 (07:01) Artur Tegkaev (Ziolkowski, Orendorz), 0: 3 (44:26) Tomi Wilenius, 0: 4 (50 : 09) Denis Fominych (Swinnen, Liesegang), 1: 4 (57:04) MItch Bruijsten (MacLeod, Kreuzmann), 1: 5 (59:30) Nils Liesegang (Fominych, Hüfner ENG).
