Hisham Hanafi, deputy head of the junior sector in Al-Ahly, said that while he was on the technical committee, they followed the matches of the second division, and they selected 11 players to be in the first team before they became famous in the Premier League.
Hanfi said in his statements to the channel “On Time Sports”: “900 players were in the second division when I played for the team, but there were 11 players we nominated to play in Al-Ahly Club.”
He continued: “Mustafa Mohamed, when we spoke to him, said he was a fan of the Zamalek club, so we did not continue negotiations, because his desire was not to change.”
He added: “Mohammed Sadiq also plays on the left side and would have added a lot to Al-Ahly, but at this time he also refused to play for Al-Ismaili because he encouraged the team.”
He continued: “Mohamed Antar was also a candidate to play in Al-Ahly and we entered into negotiations before he played in the Premier League, but the problem is always that when Al-Ahly is interested in a player behind him all the clubs are held, but after his rise to the Premier League we did not negotiate.”
He talked about the possibility of compensating the late players Sharif Ekrami, Ahmed Fathi and Hussam Ashour, saying: “Shoaib, a performance analyst in the first team, is present in all matches, from the 2002 birth team to the youth team talking to us and providing him with all the information required to help him.”
He concluded: “We have in the junior sector who compensates the late players, we have elements that can replace Ahmed Fathi, like Fares Tariq, born in 2000, but need time in the first team in order to gain experience.”
