The Grand Prix of Great Britain was again one walk in the park in front of Mercedesapart from the two unfortunate punctures. Lewis Hamilton has now built up a comfortable lead and is already heading for his seventh world title. However, it is not the championship he hoped for.
At Silverstone – especially on Saturdays – it became clear that Mercedes would be a size too big for Red Bull Racing. Hamilton managed to keep the competition far behind during qualifying. Max Verstappen was delayed by more than a second. This line also extended to the race on Sunday. Hamilton disappeared on the horizon shortly after the start and with that he left Verstappen in third place in no man’s land. Nobody seems to be able to fight Mercedes at the moment. Hamilton is disappointed with the situation, but also indicates that it is not his fault that the competition cannot keep up with him.
