Hamas Releases Video of Women Hostages as Psychological Propaganda, Netanyahu Responds

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considered the video clip published by Hamas on Monday, showing three women hostages, as “cruel psychological propaganda” by the Palestinian movement, which launched an attack on Israeli residential communities in the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7. This resulted in the killing of 1,400 people, most of them civilians, and the kidnapping of about 230 others.

The video shows three women sitting side by side in front of a blank wall, and one of them sends an angry letter to Netanyahu in Hebrew, requesting that they be returned home in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

For his part, Netanyahu commented on the video: “I address Elena Trubanov, Daniel Aloni, and Ramon Kersht, who were kidnapped by Hamas, which is committing war crimes. I embrace you. Our hearts are with you and the other kidnappers.”

He added: “We are doing our best to return all the kidnapped and missing persons to their homeland.”

In response to the Hamas attack, Israel began bombing Gaza, imposed a severe blockade, while expanding the military operation to include a ground incursion into the Strip.

The Ministry of Health of the Hamas movement, which controls Gaza, announced on Sunday that the death toll had risen to more than 8,000, most of them civilians, including about 3,500 children.
