Hamáček: The government will deal with the renewal of the Central Crisis Staff

Hamáček confirmed the negotiations on the renewal of the crisis staff on Twitter at the request of one of the network’s users.

The Central Crisis Staff was set up in mid-March in connection with the epidemic of a new type of coronavirus. The government declared a state of emergency due to the epidemic on March 12, the crisis staff was established three days later. It ceased operations on June 11.

It was originally led by former Deputy Minister of Health and current Government Commissioner for Science and Research in Health Roman Prymula, and after two weeks Hamáček was appointed head.

After the Deputy Prime Minister took over the leadership, several working groups were set up in the staff to deal with individual professional issues. Teams were set up to distribute protective equipment, purchase it, media and health groups, and deal with the effects of government restrictions. An economic advisory team has also been added.

The staff meeting was attended by representatives of some ministries, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, regions, as well as representatives of the opposition. The staff made recommendations to the government, and was also responsible for the central purchase of protective equipment, the lack of which the Czechia suffered at the beginning of the crisis.

In the last two days, the number of new cases of covidem-19 has been higher than 200, the highest since the end of June. The current number of infected people is also the highest, but according to Vojtěch, there may be an error in the data.

The Minister of Health will announce on Friday whether new area measures will be introduced due to Covid-19 from Monday. On Wednesday, for example, he did not rule out the possible obligation to wear veils indoors.
