Among gas stations located in non-metro areas, only three places in Chungcheongnam-do are sold out.
Burnouts are occurring among the four oil refineries, most notably Hyundai Oilbank, which has a high percentage of directly operated gas stations in the metropolitan area. An oil refinery industry official explained, “Oil refineries have given priority to service stations operated by self-employed workers, and there was a situation where some self-operated service stations were out of stock.”
The government has forecast that depleted stock will increase, focusing on service stations with high demand, such as the metropolitan area and motorway rest areas.
