Hafeez’s fight was in vain, New Zealand won the series by nine wickets against Pakistan

Hamilton: New Zealand won the second Twenty20 match against Pakistan by nine wickets. Batting first, Pakistan scored 163 for six in the allotted overs. In reply, New Zealand reached the target in 19.2 overs for the loss of only one wicket.

With this victory, New Zealand won the three-match series. The Kiwis won the first match as well.

Pakistan’s senior batsman Mohammad Hafeez won the toss and elected to field. Hafeez was unbeaten on 99 off 57 balls. No one else on the team could shine much. For New Zealand, Tim Southee took four wickets for just 21 runs in four overs.

New Zealand’s opener Tim Seifert (84 off 63 balls) and skipper Kane Williamson (57 off 42 balls) led New Zealand to victory. New Zealand lost the wicket of Guptill who scored 21 runs. Faheem Ashraf dismissed the player. New Zealand’s Tim Southee wins Man of the Match award.

The Kiwis beat Pakistan by five wickets in the first match of the series.
