Borussia Dortmund get a big win at home Freiburg in continued German League. The Borussia who appeared dominant won 5-1.
Dortmund host Freiburg at Signal Iduna Park, Saturday (15/1/2022) early in the morning WIT in continued Bundesliga. Thomas Meunier’s header followed a corner situation, giving the hosts the lead in the 14th minute.
Meunier doubled the score in the 29th minute. Again starting from a corner kick situation, where he grabbed Julian Brandt’s pass.
Towards the end of the first half, aka in injury time, Dortmund added to their advantage. Erling Haaland received a pass from Jude Bellingham and finished it into the bottom left corner of the net.
The visitors had time to keep the opportunity in the 61st minute. Ermedin Demirovic minimized the gap. But Dortmund did not relax the pressure.
Haaland scored his second goal in the 75th minute, after completing Mahmoud Dahoud’s through ball. In the 86th minute, it was Dahoud’s turn to make a name on the scoreboard by utilizing feedback from Nico Schulz.
This crushing victory is temporarily getting closer Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich at the top of the German League standings. With 40 points from 19 games, they are currently only three points away from Bayern who have only played 18 times.
On the other hand, Freiburg stuck in fourth position with 30 points. They have the potential to be evicted by Bayer Leverkusen, Cologne, Union Berlin, and Eintracht Frankfurt who are within three points.
