With the 3-0 victory over Hartberg, Salzburg cannot be captured in the gold match. Table topper LASK Linz, who smoked 0-1 for Wolfsberger, is eleven points behind with two games left to play.
At the same time, LASK Linz was deducted four points for breaking the training record that was laid down during the corona break, but has appealed the penalty and wants the points back. Should that happen, the top teams will score seven points instead of eleven.
Regardless, the series championship is secured for Salzburg.

Borussia Dortmund had to stretch weapons against Bayern Munich in the league title in the German Bundesliga, but Erling Braut Haaland still became the series champion this season.
Before leaving Austrian football at the New Year, the 20-year-old greatly contributed to laying the foundation for what is Salzburg’s seventh straight league fixture. With that, the club extends its own record line in Austrian football.
In Sunday’s game against Hartberg, Salzburg also set its goal number 100 for the season. André Ramalho was there when he provided a 1-0 lead just before the break. South Korean Hee-chan Hwang and Patson Daka were behind the other two goals in the second half.
Haaland scored 16 times in the league for Salzburg before heading to German football.
Arbitration will decide the appeal
LASK Linz was initially drawn six points and fined around NOK 800,000 for having completed full training with contact at a time when the infection protection protocol only allowed training in small groups with social distance. This was discovered by the fact that someone had smuggled a camera into the fitness facility, and it caused vigorous reactions from the other clubs.
LASK appealed the points penalty and recently got two of the points back. It seemed the management was too small. Therefore, the case is appealed to the neutral arbitration court.
A decision is not expected until mid-August. In any case, the club cannot now become a series champion.
