New Combat Mechanics & Synergy Abilities

In this direct sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake and its DLC, Episode Intermission, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues the thrilling journey following the escape from Midgar. The game delves into Cloud’s mysterious backstory, revealing his intricate relationship with Shinra and Sephiroth, the primary antagonist.

But there’s more to the demo than just the narrative. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth introduces new combat mechanics including Synergy Abilities, which are unique combo attacks and maneuvers. These abilities feature a separate gauge and can be unleashed when two characters’ gauges are filled, resulting in powerful combined attacks such as Cloud and Red XIII’s “Savage Assault.”

February 29 Marks the Launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

While today’s demo serves as a tantalizing preview, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is expected to launch in its entirety on February 29 exclusively for PS5. The game boasts a vast 40-hour campaign, an expansive and explorable world map, gripping storytelling, and narrative elements that may diverge from the original in surprising ways.
