Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, expressed his shock after the couple’s split and how quickly Blanchard reignited her relationship with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker.

Anderson, in an interview with an independent source said, “I was blindsided by the sudden breakup. It came out of the blue. I had no idea she still had such strong feelings for him.”

Blanchard, who was engaged to Urker in 2018 while serving a prison sentence for the murder of her abusive mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, seemingly broke up with Urker in 2019.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, told the Daily Mail Friday that he was “blindsided” by their split.
“I’m not doing well with it. For me, it just came out of the blue,” Ryan Anderson expressed.
Anderson also said he “had no clue” Blanchard still had “such strong feelings” for her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker.

Anderson and Blanchard initially got in touch via mail in 2020 while Blanchard was in prison. Their relationship developed from there, ultimately culminating in their marriage in 2022. Anderson was by Blanchard’s side when she was released from prison in December 2023 and took her home.

Recently, Blanchard and Urker were spotted together in South Louisiana, holding hands and running errands. They were also seen displaying matching tattoos. Regarding the situation, Anderson said, “I haven’t spoken to her, so I just don’t know what’s going on. I’m at a loss. I’m really not doing well at all.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard could not be reached for comment by Page Six.

According to reports, Blanchard and Anderson’s split took place approximately two weeks ago, and Blanchard moved into her father and stepmother’s home in Cut Off, Louisiana, which is about three hours away from their shared residence in Lake Charles.

Blanchard announced their separation near the end of March.
She also moved out of their shared home.

Blanchard announced the split on her personal Facebook page just days after deleting her public social media pages. She wrote, “People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parents’ home down the bayou. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find… who I am.”

Before their split, Anderson and Blanchard met in prison.
They got married in 2022.
Anderson picked up Blanchard when she was released from prison in December 2023.

While Anderson may be devastated by Blanchard’s decision to end their marriage, her father, Rod Blanchard, expressed doubts about their union, stating, “Personally, I give it a 50/50 chance that it’s going to work. She can be spontaneous and make quick decisions, jumping into things without thinking.”

He also expressed concerns that Blanchard’s decision to move in with Anderson straight out of prison was ill-advised, saying, “She’s grown and she was told what to do all her life. We wish she wouldn’t have, but like I told her, if it doesn’t work out, I’ll be there to help pick up the pieces.”

Following Blanchard’s release from prison, she and Anderson made their first public appearance together at Lifetime’s “Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard” premiere in January. They also gained attention when Blanchard openly discussed their intimate life on social media.
