Gymnast Soldatova said she was suffering from a “terrible disease”

Gymnast Alexandra Soldatova admitted that she suffers from bulimia, which prevents her from performing. She herself announced the illness to her coaches only in 2018, before that they were not notified.

Soldatova noted that she had to tune in for recognition for several months. “For more than two years I have been suffering from bulimia, this is a very terrible disease,” said the athlete. When Soldatova admitted to the trainer Anna Dyachenko about the illness, she first burst into tears, and then the conversation went on for four hours. The coach supported her.

“Every time I had a choice – health or sport, I always chose sport,” the skater is sure.

Soldatova lost consciousness in 2019 in the final of the Challenge Cup in Portugal. After that, she was expelled from the national team for the World Cup in Baku. The gymnast herself is a four-time world champion and multiple European champion. Earlier media reported about an attempt by Soldatova to take her own life. The athlete herself promised to file a complaint with the media that published this information.
