For Guus and John, Bassie and Adriaan are childhood sentiment. “And especially John is almost obsessed with them,” says Guus. “He also bought the original robot Robin before. Robin’s salesman was therefore able to find him again when he wanted to sell this car. We thought: that will not happen again. ”
But what are they going to do with that car? Is it just in the driveway? “No, it’s safe in a shed somewhere. When corona is over, we want to rent out the car. That includes driver. “We’d rather not let anyone else drive the car.”

Guus and John themselves will certainly drive around every now and then. “Just for fun. People go and watch and children shout. They recognize the car of course and that is nice. ”
The duo paid 24,000 euros for the car. “Yes, that’s about a hundred times the current value of the car. Money is relative with things like this. Don’t they say what the fool gives for it? Well, we are pretty crazy, ” says Guus, laughing.
It cannot be ruled out whether this is the latest purchase related to Bassie and Adriaan. “John also really wants the caravan. But then it must be in good condition and there must still be a towbar under the car, because it does not have that. The real car is also defunct. ”
