On March 15, 2022, GTA 5 will hit PS5 and XSX | S. Rockstar did not present details for a long time, but we have just received specifics that should reassure Grand Theft Auto fans. The developers obviously want to use the full potential of the latest platforms.
GTA 5 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S will receive three game modes – players can count on refined graphics, smoother gameplay or ray tracing:
- Fidelity mode in GTA 5 is “adapted to the highest quality binding” and works at 30 frames per second. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will run in native 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled. On the Xbox Series S we get “higher 4K resolution”.
- The game’s performance mode is “tuned for the most responsive gameplay” and provides 60 frames per second. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, the developers will also provide 4K resolution, and we will play in 1080p on XSS.
- Performance RT mode is only available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of GTA 5 and is a combination of the previously mentioned modes – 4K resolution, ray tracing and a target of 60 frames per second.
Rockstar also confirms that it has prepared “a number of visual improvements”, among which are improved lighting, shadows and reflections of water, as well as an increased population, traffic diversification and greater vegetation density. The creators also remembered about reducing loading times, and in addition, the new GTA 5 will receive “new, very detailed explosions”.
If you’re going to play Grand Theft Auto 5 on PlayStation 5, you’ll feel the haptic vibes and take advantage of the power of adaptive triggers. Developers will provide us with new sensations (vibrations) thanks to weather effects, damage while driving, and we will feel the surface and explosions.
Rockstar will also provide the option to transfer the gameplay from GTA 5 and progress from GTA Online from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to the current generation. The Corporation emphasizes that it will be a “one-time transfer”.
One thing is missing from this whole pile of facts – will Take-Two and Rockstar provide a free update? Apparently not because we may suspect that companies would have boasted about this option a long time ago. It is worth adding that in April, the improved GTA 5 will hit the boxes.
