Group Transcribe, Microsoft allows group conversations to be transcribed

The possibilities that the advancement of technology allows and specifically everything that surrounds the artificial intelligence they are really important for the future of the industry (and even in health). Some examples of them are already being seen by large companies, such is the case of Microsoft with its new conversation transcription tool called Group Transcribe.

Group Transcribe is a new application that for the moment has been released on iOS devices and that allows perform automatic transcriptions of everything that is being discussed in a room as well as translate them in real time without the user having to take notes or stop paying attention to what is happening around them.

The intention of this tool is none other than to avoid the typical inattention of people when they have to take a written note of something important that has just been said. Its operation is as simple as use the microphone of the iPhone phone and offer the option to invite more people to do the transcription together simply having to scan a QR code to join the conversation.

This development is part of Microsoft Garage, the division focused on experimental apps of the giant American company. In addition, the most interesting thing about its technology is that it not only helps artificial intelligence to transcribe what is said out loud, but also being able to translate it into another language with more than 80 languages that logically include Spanish as well as English, French, German, Chinese, Catalan and Portuguese, among others.

Group Transcribe takes advantage of the artificial intelligence technology developed by Microsoft in recent years, including Azure Speech Service, a solution released in 2019 that can effectively recognize a conversation made by a small group of people in a room to generate a transcript.

Unfortunately, this option comes at a time when most work meetings, talks and classes are not being held in person due to the global pandemic, although it will undoubtedly be useful for thousands of people once confinement is a thing of the past.
