A 24-year-old man attacked a train passenger in Tokyo, Japan with a knife on Sunday (10/31/2021) local time. Panicked passengers rushed to safety.
This incident occurred on the Keio train near Kokuryo Station. The man is wearing a green shirt, blue suit, and purple coat like the Joker in the ‘Batman’ series.
The Tokyo Fire Department said 17 passengers were injured in the attack. Three of them were seriously injured.
After attacking the passengers, the suspect then poured liquid oil and burned some of the seats. Passengers ran and fled through the train window.
Police immediately arrested the perpetrator at the scene. The motive for the attack is not yet known. He is now being investigated on suspicion of attempted murder.
