Griezmann saves France from draw syndrome against Finland | UEFA 2022 World Cup Qualifiers

Points split against Bosnia and Ukraine, not exactly the international break that world champion France had in mind. Les Bleus had something to make up for against Finland.

The supporters also realized this all too well: they pumped up the French stars with a loud Marseillaise. A sixth draw in a row was not allowed.

Antoine Griezmann was well aware of that. With a fantastic goal, outside the left, the Atletico striker opened the score after a sharp start.

Griezmann also repeated that trick after the break after a great action by Benzema. With 41 goals for France, Griezmann equals Michel Platini. Only Olivier Giroud (46) and Thierry Henry (51) scored more for Les Bleus.

With the three points, France strengthens its lead in Group D of the World Cup preliminary round. The defending champion can already smell his ticket for the World Cup in Qatar. On October 7, France will play against the Red Devils in the semi-finals of the Nations League.
