The recent rant pushed by Antoine Griezmann after the heavy defeat conceded against Juventus in the Champions League was indeed intended for his teammates.
With five victories in their first five matches, including a convincing success on the lawn of the Juventus Turin (0-2), the FC Barcelona had all the cards in hand to clinch first place in Group G. But it was without counting on a last completely failed outing against the Old Lady, Andrea Pirlo’s men beating the Blaugrana pawn by winning 3- 0 at Nou Camp.
Asked after the meeting on Spanish television, Antoine Griezmann had not mince words, painting a lucid picture of the Barcelona performance. “They ran over us, we lacked everything, desire, attitude, running, attacking … We did everything wrong”, he had thus launched, adding: “It was a bad game, a bad day.”
The words of the Frenchman had not failed to speak and for many commentators, it was Ronald Koeman who was targeted, already pointed out by the Mâconnais last October when he launched after the Blues match in Croatia that Didier Deschamps knew how to use it. But according to the Sexta, this outing was not intended for his coach, despite strained relations, but for his own teammates.
