Grey’s Anatomy season 16: episode 18, DeLuca in crisis and a big change for Jo, our verdict

Last week in Grey’s Anatomy season 16, Link learned that he was officially the father of Amelia’s baby. But the party was not really in the spotlight in episode 18 broadcast last night on ABC, surgeons with a very busy schedule. Meredith has planned many pro-bono operations with the whole team, that is to say free to help the most disadvantaged. The problem is that the schedule was very heavy and the patients became impatient, fearing that they could not be operated on in time before the end of the day. After negotiations with Tom Koracick, Meredith finally announced that all operations would be completed, even if it took several days, but also that one day per month will now be devoted to pro-bono interventions, thanks to the generous donation from Tom … Who didn’t really seem to have signed up for that, but that’s good news!

Meredith overwhelmed with work

The latter also had to face the announcement of Teddy concerning the baby of Amelia, which is that of Link. Tom then asked the young woman to turn the page and prepare for her marriage to Owen. In this episode of Grey’s Anatomy season 16, we also discovered DeLuca in a complex situation. The surgeon suspected human trafficking in front of his teenage patient Cindy, accompanied by her supposed aunt Opal. He asked Bailey for help, who found that Andrew was crossing the line and ordered him to leave the hospital to rest. The determined young man continued to try to get Cindy to speak when he triggered the purple code (meaning violence against a member of the hospital) because his aunt was apparently violent with him. Followed a surreal scene in which the surgeons surrounded the violent person so that security could take care of him, and it was DeLuca and not the aunt. Carina’s brother then burst into tears in a moment of intense depression.

But while we were witnessing a real burnout of DeLuca, we finally learned from Bailey that the surgeon was not so wrong … Cindy’s aunt having run away from the hospital with his niece and seeming to have a rather violent behavior with her! As for Andrew, we saw him flee Seattle aboard a motorcycle on which he drove extremely fast … Hopefully nothing happens to him! In parallel, we also learned that Jackson was no longer in a relationship with Vic, the surgeon desperately looking for a new pair to accompany him to a basketball game. He then finally proposed to Richard to cheer him up, he who had just received the divorce papers with Catherine. Finally, Jo decided to change his life and proposed to Levi Schmitt to become his roommate, to settle in his apartment which is empty without the presence of Alex. We should witness a shock duo in the rest of the series! This episode was rich in actions and twists and turns and the character of DeLuca managed to take us away through his emotions. We can’t wait to see the future reserved for him … In the meantime, we wondered if Owen could fall in love with Amelia again in the sequel to Grey’s Anatomy season 16.
