Grande and Bieber resist cheating charges

Pop star Ariana Grande (26) and singer Justin Bieber (26) have rejected allegations that they cheated their joint song “Stuck with U” to number one on the US charts. “Anyone who knows me or has followed me for a while knows that numbers are not the driving force behind everything I do,” wrote Grande in a longer statement on Instagram.

The US rapper 6ix9ine (24) also accused the two in a video on Instagram of making around 60,000 sales of their new CD themselves with six credit cards. So the song, the proceeds of which are to be donated to coronavirus helpers, reached number one, the rapper claimed. He accused the “Billboard” magazine that publishes the US charts of fraud. Because of the jump from “Stuck with U” his own new song (“Gooba”) had slipped to third place.

Both Bieber and Grande emphasized in their comments that no more than four records of the same type could be purchased per credit card purchase. Grande wrote: “My fans bought the song. Justin’s fans bought the song. Our fans bought it (and never more than four, as the rules say). ”
