Grand Prix Radio now has radio rights for the next three Formula 1 seasons. This means that Grand Prix Radio can not only report live and on-site of every training, qualification and race, but can also conduct interviews with the Formula 1 drivers. Grand Prix Radio will also become a marketing partner of Formula One Management and will provide the necessary promotional activities for this. Grand Prix Radio is the only Dutch-speaking radio station that can be present live from the circuits that are part of the official Formula 1 world championship.
Acquiring these rights therefore means that Grand Prix Radio should be present at every race from now on. However, due to the measures that the FIA has installed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, that will only happen if the press is allowed to be freely present again and Grands Prix can be driven with the public again. “We are incredibly proud of this special deal with Formula One Management, thanks also to Ballentine Tax & Legal for their commitment,” said Olav Mol, co-founder of Grand Prix Radio. “This is something unique for the Netherlands and I think it is fantastic that we are going to take a new path in Formula 1 in this way. It will still be a challenge to give full substance to what we are allowed to do right from the start. but with the modern communication options that we have at our disposal, that will probably work out. The sport is increasingly alive in our country and Grand Prix Radio can now provide the many fans with even more content with this Dutch Formula 1 radio station. ”
The collaboration with Formula One Management also ensures that Grand Prix Radio will now play a role in FOM’s promotional activities. For example, Grand Prix Radio will play an active role in introducing the Formula 1 Pro TV app in the Netherlands, which will provide access to exclusive F1 content in images and sound. Grand Prix Radio can be heard in the entire Kingdom of the Netherlands and the website will only be accessible from there.
