Governor NTTViktor Bungtilu Laiskodat told journalists to think for themselves about the legal basis after the implementation of the school admission policy for SMA and SMK students in Kupang City at 05.30 WITA.

“The legal basis, related to the policy,” asked journalists.

“Legal basis you think yourself,” Viktor replied with a smile.

“You come up early in the morning (ask) for legal reasons, you’ll dip in there later,” Viktor continued, pointing to a pool of water around him.

After answering reporters, Viktor smiled as he walked away from a number of journalists who had been at SMAN 6 Kota Kupang since morning to cover the visit of the number one person in NTT.

Viktor’s answer was made after delivering a statement to journalists during a visit to the lemon grass garden by students at SMA Negeri 6 Kupang Friday (3/3) morning.

Viktor Laiskodat came to SMA Negeri 6 to see firsthand the implementation of the school entrance at 05.30 WITA which he himself proposed.

The implementation of the school entry schedule for class XII students proposed by the Governor of NTT, Viktor Laiskodat has now entered its fifth day.

Implementation of school entry at 05.30 for class XII students in the city of Kupang is intended to improve student competence and also improve student work ethic.

The policy for students to enter school at 05.30 WITA proposed by Viktor drew various reactions from various parties.

Various responses emerged asking Viktor to cancel the policy because he had no legal basis for implementing earlier school hours than before.

Initially, the Education and Culture Office as the technician service announced the school entry schedule for SMA and SMK Negeri Kupang students at 05.00 WITA.

However, after only two days, the schedule was changed to 05.30 WITA.
