Government reports round-the-clock supply of goods

There are no problems with the supply of goods for retail chains amid the spread of coronavirus infection; the government allowed to supply products around the clock. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, according to RIA Novosti.

Earlier in Moscow, goods were allowed to be delivered only at night, said the deputy chairman of the government. According to him, the round-the-clock delivery regime, like the “green corridor” at the borders, has been introduced to prevent food shortages. So far, the government does not see any signs that supply chains are interrupted. At the same time, Khusnullin admitted that stores operate in a “slightly more intense” mode.

Against the background of the growing number of coronavirus-infected people, food chain stores and delivery services recorded an increase in demand for a number of non-perishable products, including cereals and canned goods. On March 18, Viktor Yevtukhov, deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that demand for foodstuffs in the capital had grown five to ten times earlier this week, but the excitement had subsided.

Government March 19 also warnedthat, if necessary, restrictive measures to combat the spread of coronavirus will be strengthened. What measures are being considered are not specified in the cabinet. Earlier Vedomosti and Open Media They talked about the existence of a plan to introduce, if necessary, a harsh emergency regime in Moscow, but the authorities officially denied these plans. As of March 18, there were 147 cases of coronavirus in Russia, most of the increase (31 out of 33) was noted in Moscow.
