Government Prioritizes Housing Needs and Allocates More Funds: Cabinet Meeting Summary

Manama: The cabinet meeting decided to give priority to the housing needs of the people. It has been decided to open alternative ways including appropriate loan facilities for those who have applied for housing.

The cabinet discussed the solution to the issue of those who have been waiting for housing units for a long time. Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who presided over the meeting, made it clear that more money will be allocated in the budget for housing-related matters. The Prime Minister has assigned the responsibility of the Minister of Housing for the measures related to this.

The Cabinet expressed special thanks to the Ministries and Government Authorities for their efforts to make Ashura programs a success. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Jafari Auqaf, various scholars, leaders, religious functionaries etc. cooperated in organizing the Ashura day celebrations. He thanked everyone.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has been tasked to assess the availability of basic food items and take necessary steps. The Cabinet condoled the death of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi. On the occasion of the International Youth Day, the Cabinet expressed its support for the development of various schemes to provide more opportunities for the youth.

The Cabinet estimated that the population of Bahrain has reached 15,77,059. On the basis of the reports, the cabinet has assessed that there has been a 6.3 percent increase in the wages of the native employees in the private sector.

The Minister of Labor announced that 14,163 natives were given employment and 7237 people were given job training in the second quarter of 2023. The cabinet meeting was held at Gudaibia Palace.
