PAPUA, KOMPAS.TV- TNI-Polri security personnel continue to hunt down armed criminal group (KKB) personnel in Papua. One of them was holding a KKB led by Lamek Taplo.
On the way, it turned out that KKB personnel were also equipped with firearms so that inevitably the TNI-Polri had to be extra careful when hunting.
Commander of Korem (Danrem) 172 / Praja Wira Yakhti (PWY) Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan revealed the origin of firearms and ammunition currently in possession of the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Lamek Taplo.
Izak said KKB obtained from the wreckage of the MI 17 helicopter which crashed on the Oksibil-Sentani flight in July 2019.
“It is true that the senpi owned by the KKB led by Lamek Tablo came from the MI17 helicopter carrying 12 TNI soldiers,” said Izak Pangemanan, Friday (21/5/2021).
He admitted the bodies of MI17 crew and helicopters were found and evacuated in February 2020 and that was what the group used when attacking members of the Security Task Force for Prone Areas (Pamtas) in Serambakon, Tuesday (18/5/2021) night.
