8 years after the end of the series, Gossip Girl will be back with a reboot expected for 2021! If most of the flagship characters will not be part of the adventure, and certainly not Blake Lively, who said he was exhausted by the shooting of Gossip Girl, a new team from the Upper East Side will be presented to the public. During a video interview for the American site Variety, Chace Crawford (Nate) and Penn Badgley (Dan) returned to the file Gossip Girl. And the least we can say is that the two actors are not at all nostalgic for this period of their lives … If Penn Badgley says he is very excited by the reboot in preparation for HBO Max, he explains why he does not want to see a single episode in which he interpreted THE Gossip Girl anymore : “I saw the series again with my wife, Domino, before our wedding. (…) She had never seen the show and I have not seen any episodes since. But at that time, I I remember that it was very difficult to watch. To see yourself at 20, 21 or 22 years old … Who likes that? It is super uncomfortable “.
An almost ashamed feeling, shared by Chace Crawford who goes further by saying that“you would have to attach him to a stretcher and force him to keep his eyes open to watch the series”. Moreover, he also took advantage of this interview to give his opinion on the conclusion of Gossip Girl, which he finds totally inconsistent : “At the end of the series, no matter how you find it smart or not, Dan being a Gossip Girl doesn’t really make sense when you know the character. Right?” At least the message is clear: for Chace Crawford (Nate) and Penn Badgley (Dan), the adventure GG is indeed over! As for Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass), can we expect his return in the reboot of Gossip Girl ?
