Google Messages Introduces Selfie GIFs
Google Messages, the popular instant messaging app, is reportedly in the process of rolling out a new feature called “Selfie GIFs” following the addition of a custom camera. This new addition, which is expected to enhance user experience, is yet to be available to beta or stable users.
How to Access Selfie GIFs
To access Selfie GIFs, simply open a conversation in Google Messages and long-press the camera icon in the text field. This action will open a new mini camera viewfinder and gallery. Although the incorporation of Selfie GIFs in a separate custom camera section is unusual, Google aims to optimize user experience.
Recording Selfie GIFs
Google Messages now allows users to effortlessly create 3-second Selfie GIFs. A convenient countdown initiates automatic recording, or users can manually start the recording using the red button. Importantly, editing controls are currently not available. Upon capturing the Selfie GIF, it is automatically saved in the user’s camera roll, ensuring easy and instant sharing.
