Early Monday came the discouraging news of autumnal weather this week. Wind and precipitation were forecast for large parts of the country.
A ridge of high pressure is on its way to Scandinavia and with that it can turn around and become warmer, especially in southern and eastern Norway.
Can turn
Meteorologist Martin Granerød says that there is low pressure activity in our country.
– Some wind and stiff northerly gales are expected on the coast of Western Norway tomorrow morning, but that it will calm down during tomorrow evening, says the meteorologist.
It is from Lindesnes in the south and north in the Trondheimsfjord that there is talk of clouds and rain.
–
But that seems to be turning around.
– A ridge of high pressure is on its way to Scandinavia and if it breaks out, it can reach over 20 degrees and more hours of sunshine, especially in the south and in eastern Norway, says Granerød.
First, there will be sunny hours in the south and east, then in the west and closer to the weekend, also in northern Norway.
Better weather later in the week
Tomorrow, the gray weather will partly linger, according to the meteorologist.
The south and east will be the first to see the fine weather, and in Western Norway it may get better during the week.
– In Western Norway it may get better on Thursday or Friday. For Northern Norway, we see the same trend, but potentially that it could be better at the weekend.
Nevertheless, the meteorologist warns of an uncertain forecast.
– There is a summer warning and it is an uncertain warning. Forecasts far into the future will be more uncertain.
Lightning warning
It has been sent out yellow warning for thunderstorms and lots of lightning in parts of Møre and Romsdal and Trøndelag.
– It is on the border in Nordmøre to the Trondheimsfjorden, previously there was lightning activity at Geilo, but that should have subsided, says Granerød.
When it comes to thunderstorms, it can be difficult to predict local differences. Some places will not get thunderstorms, they write in the hazard warning.
–
– With thunderstorms, there will be large local differences in intensity. Thunderstorms live their own lives and it is difficult to see where they will come from, says the meteorologist.
On Twitter, the Meteorological Institute came up with an update where they extended the danger warning area to parts of Møre and Romsdal, Trøndelag and Innlandet.
