Good intentions: sport starts in 2022… and will continue in 2023!

Between four and five workouts a week. This is Julien Honnart’s pace, from when he entered the gym almost a year ago, to today.

A good resolution that many French people make in January, as this is the time of year when gyms register the highest number of registrations.

After having stopped all sporting practice for three years, Julien Honnart, now an independent real estate agent, decided to take charge in January 2022: “After my change of pace, professional in particular, I wanted to return to sport , with the aim to have a weight loss during the year. »

Accompaniment

And the following he received at the L’Orange bleue sports hall in Chartres was of great help to him in achieving his goal. “Coming here you feel followed, it’s fundamental. In the last year, two coaches have been with me and that’s also what makes me want to come back: the fact of being accompanied”, smiles Julien.

In the Eure-et-Loir, gymnasiums find their members

Mathéo Froger, sports educator and student in L’Orange bleue for two years to become a sports coach, followed Julien’s progress with precision. “Right from the start, our role is to explain how the machines work, the postures to have… Then, quickly, we set up suitable programmes. The goal is for clients to become autonomous little by little, which is absolutely the case with Julien today, “he explains.

But the future sports coach is aware of it, sometimes good intentions don’t last…

“We see a lot of people who sign up at the beginning of the year but don’t come back. Our mission is to help everyone and answer all questions, whether people lift ten or one hundred kilos. »

In the Chartraine sports hall, which now has about 800 members, as in many sports halls, there are two ways to sweat: group lessons, which mix cardio and muscle strengthening exercises and the weight training platform, with the different machines. “Julien actually tested group lessons not too long ago, even though at its core, it’s not her thing?! “, the two men joke.

Driving, working, watching TV… What did we do this year? Key figures for 2022

If Julien is more assiduous on the bodybuilding platform, it is also because the program put in place by his coaches has allowed him to lose seventeen kilos in the last twelve months: “I was overweight and my body didn’t feel very bad. The fact of feeling better today affects my daily life but also my work performance, for example. »

“All the difficulty is to come to the room. Once you are there, let’s go! »

More than just a hobby, Julien Honnart has made sport a real “routine” in his daily life. “You have to know how to establish this habit, because if you change, you have a one in two chance of not going, you have to act,” warns the subscriber to L’Orange bleue. “When there is doubt, there is no doubt?! All the difficulty is to come to the room. Once you are there, let’s go! »

His good intention for 2023? Don’t abandon. “It is a twenty-four month commitment, obviously renewed. My new resolution is to stay there. »
