Good Bye Corona, RI Has Its Own Covid Vaccine

Jakarta, CNBC IndonesiaIndonesia is developing and trying to complete the making corona vaccine. The vaccine is planned to be mass produced in mid-2021.

Spokesperson handling unit covid-19, Wiku Adisasmito reported positive news on the development of the corona virus virus or covid-19 in Indonesia. Making the vaccine, he said, was being rushed to be finalized.

The covid-19 vaccine made in Indonesia has been developed by the Eijkman Molecular Biology Institute in collaboration with several state universities in Indonesia. As well as two Indonesian chemical companies that have collaborated with foreign biotechnology institutions.

“One of them is between Bio Farma and Sinovac [perusahaan asal China] which is currently in phase three clinical trials and is expected to be completed in sufficient time so that production is directly carried out, “he said in a digital press conference on Friday (7/25/2020).

“In addition to Bio Farma there are also plans with the private sector, namely Kalbe Farma. We want vaccine production to be produced by Indonesian companies.”

Wiku added that the government through the task force team formed a team of vaccine and drug experts to ensure vaccine candidates were made suitable to protect the people of Indonesia.

There are three requirements so that the corona virus vaccine that is being developed can be used for humans, which is safe, precise, and fast.

The point is safe is that the vaccine must be able to provide protection to the community and there are no side effects.

“While appropriate is the vaccine can provide specific immunity to protect the public from the corona virus,” said Wiku.

While fast, because of the conditions experienced by Indonesia, the government wants to quickly protect its people. The trick, accelerate clinical trials.

“So that the vaccine can be produced properly and in adequate quantities. We really want to be able to provide the vaccine to all Indonesian citizens,” he concluded.
