Gold prices decreased in the local market during Thursday’s trading, as one gram rose by about 3 pounds, compared to yesterday’s prices.
Club Naguib, Secretary General of the Gold Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, said that the price of a gram of 21-carat gold was 760 pounds today, compared to 763 pounds, yesterday.
He added that the price of a gram of 18 carat gold recorded today is 654 pounds, 24 carats about 869 pounds, and the gold pound is about 6080 pounds.
Gold fell on Thursday on hopes of a rapid economic recovery to growth after the easing of public isolation measures and the possibility of a vaccine for the Coronavirus, but grim data from major economies curbed the losses, according to Reuters.
And gold fell in the spot transactions 0.7% to $ 1737.35 an ounce by 0625 GMT. US gold futures fell 0.8% to $ 1738.80.
