Goiko recovers the pace of pre-pandemic expansion with 12 new hamburger restaurants

The Spanish gourmet hamburger chain Goiko has recovered its pre-pandemic growth rate in 2022 with the opening of 12 new restaurants in Spain and France in the first six months of the year, the same figure achieved in the same period of 2019.

Eight of the new establishments opened by the chain are in Spain: Elche, Girona, Los Barrios, Hospitalet de Llobregat, Castelldefels, Madrid, Málaga and Barcelona, to which two other establishments will be added this July in Jerez de la Frontera and Collado Villalba (Madrid).

On an international level, Goiko will also expand its network, since, at the end of this month, the chain will open a third restaurant in the center of Paris, on boulevard St Michel, which joins the second location opened in the middle of the pandemic.

The chain founded by the Hispanic-Venezuelan Andoni Goicoechea in 2013 as Goiko Grill also added to its structure in March of this year a line of food trucks to expand your presence in the numerous music festivals that have been organized again in our country after the end of the restrictions due to the coronavirus. This format has a fixed unit named La Bestia in the Westfield-Glòries shopping center in Barcelona.

As part of its relaunch plan after the pandemic, the chain, owned since 2018 by the L. Catertton fund, launched its first 360º advertising campaign, which included a large display outdoors without using the brand’s logo, with its best-known hamburger as the protagonist, the Kevin Bacon, of which they have already sold more than 7 million units.

Since its foundation in a small shop on Calle María de Molina in Madrid, the chain has experienced an expansion that has led it to have around a hundred restaurants in Spain and three in France.
