The delivery company Glovo will cease operations in Puerto Rico from February 10, the delivery company said via email.
“It has not been an easy decision and we have considered it thoroughly,” said the message signed by “Glovo Team.”
“We will no longer operate where we cannot offer an excellent service and ensure that we are the best alternative in the market, and we will focus all our efforts on those markets where we can grow and provide the best experience in the industry”abounded.
Glovo reportedly will continue to offer services until February 10 at 11:59 p.m., but cash payment will cease to be an option as of today. In addition, customer service will run until February 17 to answer questions that remain pending.
The cessation date is close to the first anniversary of its entry into the local market, in February 2019. By then, it entered with a strong investment in digital advertising and the objective of growing 200% in the downloads of its application.
Glovo competed in Puerto Rico with the multinational Uber Eats and also with local solutions such as DameUnBite, Uva !, FoodNetPR and RonPon.
